Nanita Pittington is a 72-year-old retiree and native of Sheridan, Wyoming. While looking for something to fill her time, she came across a wood-burning set. To her surprise, she quickly became a proficient pyrographer. But she tired of working with the weight of wood and decided to try pyrography on gourds. Almost immediately, she was designing beautiful gourds, many with pine needle coiling, antlers, and feathers. She is now using her experience in pine needle coiling to add basket making to her repertoire. Watch for a basket addition to her artwork in the near future.
