Fetish Bear Gourd

A beautiful, one-of-a-kind piece of art from Nanita Pittington, the Fetish Bear is made from a gourd that has been pyrographed, painted and decorated in the southwestern style.

In Zuni culture, the bear is the guardian and master of the West. His fetish represents healing and protection. Bear fetishes are used for healing, protection, strength, journeying, mothering, hunting and gathering.
