Kay Kusel

Catherine "Kay" Kusel is known for her accurately rendered Mountains of the Bighorns and their Hidden Places.  She has mastered landscapes in both acrylic and pastels.

She was raised on a small ranch near Sheridan and grew up working the ranch and at a local bank.  Kay is a self taught artist who has been painting since the early 1970's.  You would be hard pressed to find any portrayals of the Bighorns more accurate than hers.  She knows these mountains like the back of her hand after running cattle up and down them all these years.  Expressions staff believes she can name every canyon, crook and cranny.

One of the things we admire about her work at Expressions is her ability to leave the deadfall and beetle killed trees in her paintings and still make the landscapes beautiful.  Kay is a humble artist who enjoys the area and artwork and we invite you to stop in and see her stunning work in person. All of the work by Kay is professionally framed to preserve and compliment the art.  You can't go wrong with owning one of her pieces.
