James Vincent

I am a native of Riverton,Wy. My grandfather settled in the Wind River country approx. 1901. My love of the landscape was fostered on many trips in the back seat of a suburban with my father and brothers. I have been fortunate enough to live two different lives. The first as an interventional cardiologist and the second as an artist.
An early retirement allowed me to focus on artwork and start a new career. It has been a pleasure.

My art education began with Mr Gilpin in Riverton. A year studying art and architecture in Florence, Italy during college was the experience of a lifetime. The major art museums of Europe sparked a lifelong interest in all kinds of artistic expression. Over the past fifteen years, I have studied with several outstanding artists including Loren Entz, Charles Fritz, Aaron Schuerr, G. Russell Case, James Poulson, Bonnie Zahn Griffith and Jim LeBar.

The reason I paint the landscape is to chronicle the way it is now, hoping that I can capture the spirit, the light and the color.
