Summer shows a lot of Ann's technical talent as well as her creative thought processes.  In this piece, she is reflecting the heat of summer.  The Vase represents the Venus De Milo. The chip in the top of the vase represents the woman's experience in life.  The woman is inside of the house looking out through the Venetian blinds as you can tell by the slap=sh marks.  Ann likes to create problems for herself to solve in her weavings.  She explains circular shapes are very challenging.  The hourglass shapes throughout this weaving representing the house is on fire.  Each element has meaning in Ann's work.  The skull indicates "It's all going to end", or in other words, summer doesn't last forever. Again her favorite tree on her walking path is shown in the seasons series with branches and leaves.
